James Holt, DVM
Dr. James Holt has cared for pets at Carmel Valley Veterinary Hospital since 1975. Born in Yakima, Washington, Dr. Holt lived all over the United States and Europe before settling in the Carmel Valley area in 1958. Dr. Holt attended the University of California, Davis, where he received a Bachelor's Degree in Animal Physiology. He went on to attend the UC Davis College of Veterinary Medicine and was awarded his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 1974. His professional interests include soft tissue and orthopedic surgery.
Dr. Holt is a member of the Monterey Bay Veterinary Medical Association. When he's not busy at the hospital, Dr. Holt enjoys a number of outdoor sports, from road and mountain biking to kayaking, skiing and hiking. He can also be found in the kitchen cooking delicious meals or playing with his dog, Joey. Dr. Holt and his wife, Leslie, have two children, Brittany and Matt.
